Perler Bead Pattern Maker
Drop in a photo and get a fuse bead pattern with real Perler, Artkal S or MARD color codes, bead counts, pegboard tiles and per-color step sheets. Everything runs in your browser — the image never leaves your device.
How to use
- Drop a photo — a cropped character, logo or pet on a plain background works best.
- Pick a brand (Perler, Artkal S or MARD), a pegboard size, and how many colors you want to buy.
- Click beads to recolor, erase empty pegs, or place clear beads. The shopping list updates as you edit.
- Download a PNG chart, a CSV shopping list, a PDF, or a ZIP of pegboard tiles and per-color step sheets.
What it's good for
Turning a photo into a fuse bead pattern. Midi 5mm beads sit on a 29×29 pegboard. This tool maps each cell to a real catalog code so you can buy bags by number instead of guessing from a screen.
Large sprites that need several boards. Set a 60×60 grid and a 29×29 split to get labeled tiles, then print per-color sheets so you place one color at a time.
Editing after convert. Photos match noisily. Brush, eyedropper and empty-peg erase let you clean edges before you iron anything.
Notes & limits
Matching uses CIEDE2000 against community hex values from the MIT-licensed beadcolors project. Screen color is not a physical bead — lighting and brand batches vary. Not affiliated with Perler, Artkal or MARD. Max grid is 120×120. Processing stays in your browser; we do not upload your photo. You are responsible for the copyright of source images.

FAQ
How do I make a Perler bead pattern from a photo?
Upload the image, choose Perler Midi and a 29×29 (or larger) grid, then download the PNG chart and shopping list. Optional: cap the number of colors so the project stays cheap and easy to bead.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Pixel matching, editing and PDF/ZIP export all run in your browser. The file never leaves your device, and no account is needed.
Which bead brands are supported?
The first version ships Perler Midi, Artkal S 5mm, and MARD. Hama and 2.6mm Mini palettes can be added later as extra JSON — the matcher does not change.
Will the colors match the beads I buy?
They are the closest catalog codes in CIEDE2000, from community-measured hex values. Treat them as a shopping guide, not a guarantee under every lamp.
What's the difference between an empty peg and a clear bead?
An empty peg is a hole with no bead. A clear bead is a transparent fuse bead you still place and iron. They are counted separately in the list.
