Split PDF Files Without Uploading
Extract pages from a PDF without sending the document anywhere. Splitting runs in your browser, so contracts and scans stay on your own device.
Your PDF will appear here.
How it works
- Open this page and add the PDF you want to split.
- Type the pages to keep, using ranges like 1-3,5.
- Click extract and download the new PDF.
- The original document is untouched, and nothing was uploaded.
When this helps
- Sharing only the signature page of a contract, not the whole document.
- Pulling one chapter out of a confidential report or ebook.
- Extracting a single certificate page from a large scanned bundle.
- Trimming a statement down to the relevant month before submission.
Limits and notes
- Extraction is page-based; content inside pages is not edited.
- Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.
- The original file is never modified — a new PDF is created.
Splitting is not editing
This tool copies the pages you select into a new PDF — it does not redact or alter their content. That is exactly why doing it locally matters: the pages you did not share still contain information, and on an upload-based service those pages would pass through someone else's server. Here, the whole document stays put.
What you can do next
FAQ
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Splitting uses pdf-lib running entirely in your browser. Your documents never leave your device.
How do I write the page range?
Use commas and dashes: 1-3,5 extracts pages 1, 2, 3 and 5 in order. Duplicate or out-of-range pages are handled gracefully.
Need to combine files instead?
Use the companion Merge PDF tool to combine multiple PDFs into one.
