Remove EXIF Data Without Uploading
Strip hidden metadata — GPS coordinates, camera model, timestamps — from your photos without sending them anywhere. Cleaning runs entirely in your browser, in batches.
Cleaned photos will appear here.
How it works
- Open this page and drop in one photo or a whole batch.
- The tool strips EXIF fields — location, device, timestamps — locally.
- Download the cleaned photos individually or all at once.
- The originals never left your device; nothing was uploaded to be "processed".
When this helps
- Removing GPS location from photos before posting them publicly.
- Cleaning marketplace listing photos that would reveal your home address.
- Stripping device and timestamp trails from images shared by sensitive sources.
- Sanitizing photos before attaching them to applications or official forms.
Limits and notes
- Metadata is stripped from the copy you download; keep originals if you need them.
- Visual content is untouched — this removes metadata, not faces or objects.
- Batch size is limited by your device memory, not a server quota.
What EXIF metadata reveals
Every phone photo carries an invisible label: the exact GPS coordinates, the device model, the date and time, sometimes even the photographer's name. Uploading a photo to a "metadata remover" website to clean it is self-defeating — the site sees the location you were trying to hide. This page strips those fields in your browser, so the sensitive data never travels.

FAQ
What is EXIF data and why remove it?
EXIF is metadata embedded by your camera: GPS coordinates, device model, date and time, even thumbnails. Shared publicly, it can reveal where you live or work. This tool removes all of it.
How does it work without a server?
The photo is redrawn onto a clean Canvas and re-exported — Canvas output contains pixels only, zero metadata. Nothing is uploaded; there's no server involved at all.
Does it affect image quality?
JPG/WebP are re-encoded at 92% quality — visually identical. PNG is lossless. Animated GIFs aren't supported (the animation would be flattened).
